BE THE ENERGY YOU WANT TO ATTRACT

I am never a huge fan in the whole new year's resolution thing but I knew I wanted 2016 to be a year of detox. In terms of detox I do not mean giving up sugar or alcohol all though moderation is key, but i really had a lot of things in my life that were not serving me. I started with the whole home de-clutter and then really got deeper and went through my social media accounts. I have always wanted to delete my facebook account but with owning my own business it's imperative I stay connected. But facebook is soooo frustrating. I mean we have gotten so disconnected as people. Nobody ever sends birthday cards anymore by way of snail mail, no body ever calls and wishes you a happy birthday and we get the random friend request from the person we met at the birthday party and had like a 2 minute convo with. I am guilty of this myself. But seriously I feel there needs to be a facebook etiquette course. I will be the first to sign up. Do not even get me started about the RSVP on a facebook invite. OMFG ..that is a whole different issue in itself. The one thing I can say is if you say you are coming to the dinner party..come to the dinner party. This gives so much anxiety when planning a dinner party at a restaurant or in my own home!

In May of 2014 I met Jenifer White who is an international psychologist, arts based researcher, and founder of Project 1948. (www.project1948.ngo) It was so nice to meet another hard working entrepreneur who shares the same values personally and on a work level.

We also understand when we get together we both might be buried in the day and have to work while we catch up!

I began getting the most amazing snail mail from Project 1948 where Jen took the time to hand write letters and I immediately knew we would be friends for life. This confirmed so much for me. And the message of "Be The Energy You Want To Attract" became so powerful to me.

Being a partner, a mom, running my own business... I lack a a lot of free time and I found myself saying yes to everybody all the time. I was exhausted. I was spending time in areas I quite frankly had zero desire to do.

In 2016 I made the pledge to only dedicate my time to the relationships I wanted to invest in. Life is short darlings. Find your tribe and love them hard!!  And, like my friend Jen, send snail mail !!
