Simple Spaghetti Sauce

I am not really a fan of the jarred stuff and let's face it..sometimes on a Sunday night you do not want to leave your couch Netflix binge. These are usually ingredients that everyone has in their pantry or next time you are at the market..grab these so you will have them for one of these nights.  This is super simple and does not have to cook all day. (I love these organic noodles too from Natural Grocers)

INGREDIENTS: 

(recipes serves 2-3)

  • 1 can diced  tomatoes (in the summer I love making my sauce with fresh tomatoes and will include that recipe soon)
  • 1 (15 ounce ) can tomato paste
  • 1 white onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

 

DIRECTIONS:

Throw it all in a sauce pan, stir, simmer, cover and continue to simmer for 20-30 minutes ! I love the sweet and spicy component but if that's not your thing..modify.
