Two Must Visit Pumpkin Patches in Oklahoma For Day Trippers
It's pumpkin season and I could not be more excited!!!!!
The leaves are starting to finally change color, the temps are dipping, and I can just hardly wait for that first frost to appear. It's my favorite season to spend outdoors exploring. Zoë and I love creating traditions and we decided to get out of Tulsa where I live and try two new-to-us pumpkin farms this year. The day trip is just another part of the fun.
Finding the perfect pumpkin, getting lost in a corn maze, indulging in a warm apple fritter donut--what is not to love here?!
P.S. --come prepared: Bring shoes and pants you can get dirty. I would have loved to have my rain wellies actually. Don't forget layers- and have some cash on hand.
The first Pumpkin Patch I want to tell you about is Parkhurst Pumpkin Patch. This gem is located in Arcadia, Oklahoma just off Route 66--about ten minutes from Pops. They have been voted one of Southern Living's Top 10 Pumpkin Patches in the south so naturally I just had to pay them a visit. I loved being out in the country. You can ride a pony, hold a bunny, or even feed a goat. They have a tire swing, hammocks, and fire-pits where you can roast hot dogs and s'mores. The kiddos will love the petting zoo, the fun fort, and the Woodland Fairy Castle. Don't forget the adorable candy corn Indian Teepee's. You can really make a whole day of it! They only accept cash and checks though so plan accordingly. And if you just want to buy a pumpkin and get some pictures--they are totally fine with that too and will waive the admission.
Soooo many pumpkins of all varieties live here. The beautiful fall mums are available too.
The next gem is P Bar Farms located in Hydro, Oklahoma. P Bar Farms is not a hard place to find. They are just an hour west of Oklahoma City. If you're driving west on I-40 take the Hydro Exit 88. Be careful to not miss Exit 88 or you will have to go 4 miles out of your way to get turned around. Then Drive 5 miles west on Old Route 66 until you come to the big red barns. If you're coming from the west take the Weatherford Exit 84. Head over the bridge and hang a right by Cummins Auto Group and head East on Old Route 66 about 4 miles until you get to the big red barns!

Their Corn Maze opened September 16th, but through the fall season they will be open on the following days:
Tuesdays - Wednesdays: 2 pm - 5 pm
Thursdays-Fridays 2 pm-10 pm
Saturdays: 10 am - 10 pm
Sundays: 1 pm to 6 pm
There is a beautiful sunflower garden too and we cannot wait to see it in it's full glory in the Spring.
P BAR FARMS AFTER DARK
Starting on September 30th P Bar Farms turns a little darker after the sun sets, you'll want to watch your back!
The Field of Screams, The Freakshow - A Barn Gone Wrong and Zombie Laser Tag starts at dusk on the following dates:
