Event Review: Launch Bloggers Conference 2019

Just wanted to following up on my day trip to OKC the other weekend! My friend Cassie from True Agape hosted the very first Launch Bloggers Conference in Oklahoma City and I am so glad that I invested the time to attend. As you know I really wanted to step out of my introvert box and do new things in 2019. I normally would not attend something like this all by myself due to my severe social anxiety. I know it sounds silly but if you deal with anxiety, you will fully relate and if you don’t ..you will never truly understand how debilitating this condition is. I battle it every second of everyday.

Our conference took place at the beautiful OKC Museum of Art which is one of my favorite places to pass time when I am in the city. The Museum’s permanent collection covers a period of five centuries with strengths in European and American art from the nineteenth through twenty-first centuries, contemporary art, and one of the world’s largest public collections of glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly, whom I adore!

Travel Guide: Houston Texas And It’s Most Instagram Worthy Spots-Sip & Play Edition

I know so many of you have been so eager for this 2nd part of this travel guide to be published and I am so thrilled to finally share all of my favorite Houston gems with you today! I launched the first edition a few weeks ago and I highly recommend reading it too so you can eat your way through Houston. Find it here.

Considering just how close and accessible Houston is to Tulsa and of course Lin’s family living there, I have spent my last seven Thanksgiving holidays there and have yet to share. (well there have been a few things here and there) But it was time to really put a good itinerary together for you! And while this one is a bit long and picture heavy, I promise that you will get so much out of it for your Houston travels so bookmark this one! We have grown to love this picturesque and interesting city very much. In fact every time I visit The Magnolia City, I enjoy it more and more. As a creature of habit, I do tend to visit a lot of the same places because I love them, but always add something new to my trip each time. And thanks to my friend Karen who lives there, she is always keeping me in the loop of the newest and greatest! But I definitely have my Houston staples as I like to call them! Each and every one is highly Instagrammable too! We all know it’s for the gram!

Visiting Boston’s Seaport District In November//New England Fall

Every time I visit Boston, I enjoy it more and more. As a creature of habit, I do tend to visit a lot of the same places because I love them, but always add something new to my trip each time.

Lin and I have family there so this is our third trip to New England and we look forward to it every year. If you are looking for a guide to Boston’s most “Instagrammable” places, you can find it here. It’s still one of my most read travel guides to date. We decided to travel Maine’s coast prior to our Boston trip and I highly recommend everyone seeing this part of the world! Read my 7 day Maine itinerary before you plan! Cape Liz and Kennebunkport are must sees!

There are so many areas in Boston but we really wanted to explore The Seaport District this go around and of course I wanted to spend some time in The lovely North End too. I just have so many favorites there so it’s hard to not just spend all of my time there.

The Grand Hotel in Kennebunk, Maine, sits prominently on Chase Hill, just steps away from bustling, downtown Kennebunkport. Featuring classic New England architecture and elegantly appointed decor, the hotel offers views of lively Dock Square and Lower Village. It’s the most perfect ideal spot to enjoy everything the town has to offer. There’s just no denying it! Grand Hotel has that warm beautiful boutique feel and the location is just superb!

INN BY THE SEA: A LUXURY RETREAT IN CAPE ELIZABETH, MAINE

In early November, Lin and I spent 7 days traveling The Maine Coast which you can read all about here. On day 6 we met the beautiful Cape Liz for the first time and ya’ll….this special place has just stolen a piece of my heart. It's natural beauty at its best!

Cape Liz is stunning. We spent some time exploring the area’s most picturesque lighthouses and their picturesque surroundings in the freezing cold rain! We began at  Two Lights State Park (free admission), where Maine’s first "twin" lighthouses were erected on the rocky shore in 1928. (The scenery inspired Edward Hopper’s painting Lighthouse at Two Lights.) Then we made our way to Fort Williams Park next and climb into the tower of Maine’s oldest lighthouse, Portland Head Light. Just see for yourself…..

Scenic Drive Traveling Maine's Coast To Boston In The Fall// 7 day Maine Itinerary

On November 1st Lin and I landed in Bangor Maine to travel the coast down to Boston. This trip had been on my bucket list as long as I can remember and I am so happy that we followed through. Maine’s Route 1 road trip is as quintessential New England as the West Coast’s Route 1 drive is classic California. While this itinerary starts from Bangor Maine and heads down the coast to Kennebunkport, it can certainly be enjoyed in the opposite direction too. There are two ways to go about this ride: Make a lot of stops on the way up and then power home. Or, pick a few pit stops for the way up, and save a few for the way back. There are so many various options.

A lot of planning went into my itinerary and I really hope you enjoy seeing Maine’s beautiful coast through my eyes—the must-see’s and must-do’s and the amazing culinary scene…OMG. This was such an incredible 7 days and I will forever remember every second of Maine’s endless cute towns and all the lobster rolls!

Go French Yourself’s Guide To Memphis// Where The Beat Goes On

Memphis is somewhere that I really wanted to spend some time exploring. I had been there once before when I was 17 but that doesn’t even count. And Lin had never been before and I had a feeling he would really enjoy the rich history. I also really wanted to see one of my favorite Frenchie bands Phoenix play as they booked a stop in Memphis for Mempho Fest, a two day music festival. Being such a music lover since as long as I can remember, I just had to experience one of the most musically charged cities in the country. Being a foodie too I also needed to get my hands on some of this Memphis style BBQ! So when I reached out to the lovely Memphis Travel team to experience all that Memphis has to offer-well we made it happen! This post was in collaboration with them and I hope that it will make you consider exploring more of our beautiful world here in The U.S.!

Overnight Favorites

My favorite parts of my skincare and bedtime routine occur in the evening. There's nothing more satisfying than giving your skin and mind all the love and TLC it needs after a stressful day. The night is also the time where your skin repairs itself, so it makes sense to give it as much help as it needs to achieve maximum results. Below are some of my tried and tested gems that I really recommend for some overnight magic—some for the skin-some for the mind.

Tallgrass Prairie Day Trip Essentials Featuring Pearls Olives to Go

The prairie has been known to evoke powerful emotions in those that let it.

With nearly 11,000 acres of Mother Nature, see wide open space, beautiful vistas, wildflowers, wildlife, bison herd, a historic ranch and one-room school with limestone buildings, and plenty of solitude, each season brings something new to experience. Their motto is "Tall in the Fall" as it takes all season for the tall grasses to reach their maximum heights, which differ each season and are dictated by the amount of rainfall. Greater rain equals taller grasses. So if visiting in the spring, expect to see grasses up to 6 inches that continue to grow all year until they reach their maximum heights in late September/October.

LoveFest 2018

The year was 2018…or was it?!!

I recently had the pleasure of attending one of the funnest wedding celebrations I have ever attended!!! Their was music, flower crowns, food trucks, a beer garden, anacondas, and even helicopter rides.

It was truly so magical!!! The dusty air, sunset, amazing food and tunes. I felt like I was at my favorite music festival actually. And festivals really weave a special kind of magic – it’s wild, invigorating, and the energy is electric. With a buzz in the air and glitter in your hair and all over your face— nothing can make you feel more alive than the chaos and freedom of a festival or a celebration of love!!!!!!!

Escaping To Carlton Landing/ The Verana House Staycation

A STAYCATION ON OKLAHOMA’S SCENIC LAKE EUFAULA...

Fancy a weekend stay at a beautiful vacation rental home in a coastal inspired lakeside gem that is nestled in the town of Carlton Landing at Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma?!! You don't have to ask me twice! Carlton Landing is such a lovely escape destination and so close to us here in Tulsa my dears.

As I mentioned before, Carlton Landing is the most picturesque little place. From the moment you arrive in the heart of the little town, your camera is ready and your eyes dart from quaint corners and pretty streets and the most beautiful homes--plus you are greeted by the cutest animals! I loved taking the time to just explore on foot along all of the streets just wandering around, getting lost and uncovering every little nook. You seriously cannot turn a corner without something catching your eye. It's just so incredibly charming and I cannot get enough.

Boho Nautical Daydreams Featuring Zelma Rose

I booked a trip to Maine this November traveling the coast from Acadia to Boston and I could not be more excited. Traveling Maine's rocky coastline surrounded with fall foliage has been on my bucket list for ages and ages. I just cannot wait to visit the quaint seaside towns along the way. I know that these Atlantic shores of this northeastern state have plenty to offer and I am ready to take it all in for two glorious weeks. Awe--give me all the chilly sea breezes and local seafood.

I knew I wanted to take some of Zelma Rose's pieces with me to explore coastal Maine so I was so excited when Lisa sent me two of her beautiful creations for all my New England seaside adventures.
