Dairy Free Raspberry Overnight Muesli Recipe

Busy loves..have you fallen in love with overnight oats yet?! Ever since I have discovered their brilliance, I’m fully hooked. For the uninitiated, making overnight oats requires little more than stirring together a few ingredients then letting them sit in the fridge overnight, and when you wake up in the morning, breakfast is served. No dicing, no blending, and most importantly, no cooking, which is deeply appreciated with the warmer temps creeping in!
I have partnered with @kitehillfoods today to share my dairy-free delish (and oh so pretty) raspberry overnight muesli recipe using their plain unsweetened almond yogurt. The yogurt softens the oats to make them creamy and delicious.

Three Fabulous Spring Trends That Won't Break The Bank

For most people, a spring wardrobe is welcomed with open arms. For me, it poses a conundrum.

Being a complete winter baby, I love wrapping up in layers of wool, coats, scarves and hats so stepping out in Tulsa last week to warm tropical climates had me baffled. I did the only thing I could think of and rushed immediately to walmart.com to do a panic-buy! I partnered with Walmart for their “We Dress America” campaign and I really love what they are doing! This campaign celebrates fashion for all-a diverse range of real people from across the country who are expressing their own style.

For once, I was lucky with my purchases and I dare say I've found 3 spring staples so expect to see them an awful lot! These items best reflect my authentic self! I am such a lover of accessories and layering pieces.

Travel Guide: Exploring St. Louis In 24 Hours

It seems now more than ever that people have the travel bug, including me!!! The need to explore, to experience and to stay in a new exciting location is always just the best! I am noticing people are also wanting to travel to celebrate a special occasion too - whether that’s a birthday or a wedding. That’s exactly what I did for my birthday last year-I desperately just wanted to get away so Lin and I hit the road in our vintage Porsche and took off and did just that. You know I am the biggest sucker for a US road trip with my sweetie. Somewhere in one of my past lives I must have fallen in love en route because I know that is where my heart is happiest. Lin and I have been on countless US road trips ourselves over the years and we typically head west. So this trip I wanted to head east and see some places I had never been before St. Louis is relatively close to Oklahoma allowing for a nice weekend getaway. But we were there for only 24 hours before continuing onto Indianapolis.

An Interview With Alex -Deco Drinks Tulsa

Deco Drinks across from LaFortune Park is something of a local institution. No matter what beverage you order, consider it heaven in a cup. You can find coffee, Matcha, Boba Tea, Chai, and loose leaf teas. I am absolutely obsessed with the beet lattes and the turmeric lattes because they have zero caffeine so they make the perfect mid-day pick me up! I have had to stop drinking so much caffeine after a bit of a health scare that you read about here.

You can also find the best avocado toast in Tulsa!

Event Review: Launch Bloggers Conference 2019

Just wanted to following up on my day trip to OKC the other weekend! My friend Cassie from True Agape hosted the very first Launch Bloggers Conference in Oklahoma City and I am so glad that I invested the time to attend. As you know I really wanted to step out of my introvert box and do new things in 2019. I normally would not attend something like this all by myself due to my severe social anxiety. I know it sounds silly but if you deal with anxiety, you will fully relate and if you don’t ..you will never truly understand how debilitating this condition is. I battle it every second of everyday.

Our conference took place at the beautiful OKC Museum of Art which is one of my favorite places to pass time when I am in the city. The Museum’s permanent collection covers a period of five centuries with strengths in European and American art from the nineteenth through twenty-first centuries, contemporary art, and one of the world’s largest public collections of glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly, whom I adore!

Learning French/Apprendre le Français

I wanted to make 2019 the year where I focus on trying new things. And the one question I get a lot having a blog called Go French Yourself is if I speak French. So I am thrilled to inform you that I have started French lessons and am committed to learning how to speak this beautiful language. I love the language and am always having a total love affair with France and am obsessed with the je ne sais quoi of the French woman.

And me being such a Francophile-it’s just time to fully embrace it. I am only three lessons in but have been doing a lot of home study and I have been watching french films like crazy as well as listening to French music. Today, I even writing out post it notes with French words and placing them all over the house. I will be taking you on my delightful journey through my experiences of learning French at the age of almost 39. I will be sharing my joys and frustrations with learning a new language, and delving into the nuances of French. So far..there have been a lot of frustrations as I am having a tough time with the phonetics, especially since I somewhat know Spanish and cannot seem to shake my “okie-tex-mex” accent which is so not sexy. LOL! Anyhow, it’s not as easy as it may appear.

In The Kitchen With Shannon Smith From Beads & Basil/Along With Her Red And Green Shakshuka Recipes

I have been following the lovely Shannon from Beads & Basil for a few months and was so intrigued by her food, and travels so when she reached out inviting me to her kitchen to make one of my favorite dishes, well of course I said OUI! I was eager to get a closer look at her personal and professional life. A jewelry designer, a chef, a teacher, and a wife and mother on top of it all, Shannon does a little bit of everything. She has a meticulous yet laid back approach to life, which comes across in the work she creates and in the way she speaks about it all.

She is a wonderful human and such a fantastic chef to boot, (and here I though I was a decent cook) and her Shakshuka’s are out of this world delicious! I had no idea how simple it could be to create my own so I am so thankful to have learned with Shannon. I knew we were going to make a red Shakshuka but when I learned that we would make a red AND a green…well pitter patter went my heart! Two is always better than one, no?
