In the heart of Santa Fe's historic plaza lies a treasure trove of indigenous art and culture – Bahti Indian Arts. Nestled among the adobe buildings and bustling streets, this unique gallery invites visitors to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Native American craftsmanship and spirituality.
Recently, our visit to Bahti Indian Arts left us captivated by the intricate beauty of Hopi katsinas. These sacred spirit beings serve as intermediaries between the Hopi people and their deities, carrying prayers for the continuation of life's cycle. It was a challenge to choose just two from the impressive collection, as each piece exuded its own unique charm and significance.

Warm copper, smoke, and rich chocolate brown tones are adding the coziest elegant feel to our Santa Fe living room for this holiday season. With this new color palette and a gorgeous new flocked tree, this might be my all-time favorite Christmas look yet!!!! These colors really inspire feelings of warmth and relaxation, and create a sense of peace for me! As a top neutral, chocolate brown is one of those colors that plays very well with others. And I am so happy with. how perfectly it is pairing with the copper and smoke hues.
I absolutely love the woven throws from Fy!
They are sure to become cherished heirlooms as their good looks never fade: you can find a stunning, lovingly crafted textile for your bed, sofa, or even a charming wall hanging.
The smallest room in the house can make the biggest design impact. You can go bold in powder rooms, that is you chance to break the continuity of a first floor’s décor and do something that surprises upon entry. A powder room is a great place in which to try out your riskiest design ideas, to use a bold wallpaper you’ve always wanted to try.
And this is what Lin and I decided to do in the first phase of the renovations, however ultimately he began to panic and had second thoughts about a statement wall covering!! Le sigh!
Experience style and sophistication with The Collective, a high-end home furnishing store in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With their modern and edgy selection of furniture and decor, you can transform your home into something truly spectacular.
Over the last few months here in Santa Fe I’ve come to think of designing this home as a process that’s a bit evolving. It is sooo very different from the Tulsa space. Yet we are still very much dedicated to a minimalist aesthetic! However here in this Santa Fe home- I have realized that a minimal aesthetic doesn’t mean it has to feel cold or spare—our design approach is based on “warm minimalism” that incorporates lots of texture and materiality to make a home feel cozy.
Yesterday I shared some tips and tricks on how to plan and measure for your grid-gallery wall and y’all really loved that!! WOW! Thank you. Blown away with the direct messages I received. Incase you missed it, have a look at the post here.
Well, as promised, today I am showing you to hang your art for your grid-gallery wall.
Lin and I are finally in the last phases of this Santa Fe renovation and now we can finally concentrate on the decor element! This is the funnest part in my opinion and now it’s time to dress the walls a bit!
I personally love filling an empty wall with some very special pieces… as long as they are appropriately scaled for the space. And in our case, the primary suite just needed something on the wall that’s visible to visitors! So I partnered with FY! to create a gallery wall! But let’s be honest…I crave order and simplicity in the home--so we chose a grid-style gallery wall of similar, evenly spaced pieces! I think the grid-style also couples the drama and elegance of traditional gallery walls with sleek modern lines for an instantly luxurious interior which is just more my style. Symmetry and clean lines convey a modern look. Plus it’s high impact. All of the pieces come together to look like one big statement piece for that classic gallery wall look and I just really love how it looks.
It’s about to be planting season in Santa Fe and Lin and I could not be more excited!!! We are planting 5 trees and 4 native plants in our back area of our new home here! Cannot wait for the extra shade in the future summer seasons and am looking for a bit more privacy too in our back desert area!
We visited Plants of the Southwest over the weekend and found everything we were looking for! The grounds here are just beautiful! And the staff is so knowledgeable too!
When shopping for “the person who has it all,” you have a few options: buy them something you can never have too many of (example: candles, accessories, coffee table books,) buy them something you know they don’t have (example: a specific kitchen appliance, a self care item,) or give them something seasonal (example: flowers, greenery, even something parishable. ) When you think of it in those terms, finding the perfect gift for that special someone doesn’t seem so intimidating after all, and to make the task even simpler, one-stop-shop at Olive + Cocoa.

From the mountains of Morocco to the heart of Canyon Road
Santa Kilim has sooo many gorgeous gems ~
Each item is sooooo very unique and it was so wonderful chatting with the owner Karim about Marrakesh, great olive oil, good local bread, fantastic coffee (he let us smell his Ethiopian blend from Ohoris Coffee and I can't wait to get a bag tomorrow) and he's a Pisces. ) Pisces are just the greatest people.
I’ve gotten a lot of questions from you guys about our curtains, so now that everything is installed in both bedrooms, I thought I’d share a window treatment tour of each room with some tips we learned along the way.
Design Tips That Helped Us
Ristras are the strings of chile you see hanging along fences, on patios and on portals all over New Mexico. In the Fall, you can buy ristras at farmer's markets and roadside stands. Ristras are sometimes used for decoration, and are said to bring good health and good luck.
Revamping your living space can be exhilarating. The promise of a new look, the thrill of finally getting that Scandinavian design you’ve always coveted. All this can make a home renovation worthwhile.
Still, the process of budgeting and planning for it can feel confusing. Especially if this is your first project, you’ll want something to guide you through the twists and turns. Here, we share the steps to create a home renovation budget, as well as other helpful information.
My aunt and cousin visited me recently and wanted to grab souvenirs and unique fun Santa Fe pieces so we visited Camino Real Imports on Cerillos and it was amazing!!!
They are a small family business and bring the finest imports from Mexico and South America!
Everyone was able to find something they loved!!!
I ended up getting some great glassware for the Santa Fe house and I found the most beautiful embroidered dresses for my niece!!!
I am just going to let the photos do the talking here.
I cannot believe we have been in Santa Fe for a little over a month now! Things are starting to come together a little more every single day!!! The furniture backorders are driving us crazy if I am being honest and I am just so ready to be fully settled! Our house here does not quite feel like home yet and I just cannot wait for the day it feels like our cozy little haven.
We have gotten a few organization projects done that I am ready to show you today in partnership with Safran Everyday. They make some wonderful home organization solutions that are unfussy, modern, durable and affordable!
Alora Ambiance now has Room Sprays y’all!!

Misting the air with one of their enticing room sprays is the fastest way to make such a beautiful first impression. When the occasion calls for it, a few spritz throughout your home can make it guest-ready in no time. All though who needs an occasion got their home and everything in it to smell divine!!? I love surrounding myself with these gorgeous fragrances on the daily.
I am so excited to introduce you to the brand behind the luxe bedding and linens, Piglet In Bed. Many of you know that Lin and I have been spending quite some time working on our new little home here in New Mexico and we can’t wait to share more of the updates with you end summer, early fall.
One of the items on our list was investing in new sustainable linen bedding. I had discovered a brand called Piglet in Bed while doing some research and was so intrigued by their color palettes and their overall mission. Their founder started Piglet in Bed in 2017 from her mother's garden shed in rural England with just a small range of linen bedding and a couple of cheeky piglets who were willing to be the first models. Today, they’ve expanded their collection to include beautiful, low-maintenance bedding, sleepwear and homewares.
Dear readers, I am so sorry for my absence but things have been a little crazy in our world. But I did want to pop on here and say HOLA from New Mexico!!!!
Every morning we take a nice chilly walk with our boys where we now have a residence in Santa Fe!!!!
We look out at the horizon to the mountains— a view that’s always made us feel deeply calm. Last summer, we took the plunge of having a house here in New Mexico, and it’s been exciting and so super stressful, super messy and blissful.
Lighter, brighter, and the place I want to spend all my time.
We’re all drawn to novelty—it’s human nature. The shiny and new all present opportunities for innovation, growth, and progress along the path forward. Of course, change doesn’t come without challenge. And this little Santa Fe home of ours was quite the challenge to fix up. Sometimes I think a full demo is easier than fixing something up! LOL.
We finally decided to try Ruggable in our kitchen as the space needs a good runner. This area gets a ton of action from almost daily cooking, washing dishes, and an area the pups love to lounge! The runner we had was too thick and hard to vacuum so it just never felt clean. ( and wasn’t clean)
Rodge totally has a junk drawer on a grand scale which has turned into what I call a miscellaneous closet or a catchall closet. And in classic junk drawer form, it's notoriously difficult to tidy up, especially when it’s not my clutter to tidy up! (well one little area is my stuff..I must admit)
Rodge is also a classic Cancer who cannot let go of anything. But one day….I just simply could not let this go on any longer. It would just give me so much anxiety and I decided to gift him a new organized catchall closet!
(here is what this catchall closet looked like)
Spring has arrived, and with it comes the promise of renewal, fresh beginnings, and joyous gatherings.
