Over the last few months here in Santa Fe I’ve come to think of designing this home as a process that’s a bit evolving. It is sooo very different from the Tulsa space. Yet we are still very much dedicated to a minimalist aesthetic! However here in this Santa Fe home- I have realized that a minimal aesthetic doesn’t mean it has to feel cold or spare—our design approach is based on “warm minimalism” that incorporates lots of texture and materiality to make a home feel cozy.
It’s about to be planting season in Santa Fe and Lin and I could not be more excited!!! We are planting 5 trees and 4 native plants in our back area of our new home here! Cannot wait for the extra shade in the future summer seasons and am looking for a bit more privacy too in our back desert area!

I just had little weekend staycation here in Santa Fe and it was the first time I traveled with my newish Taylor Weekender from Consuela. Each item is sooooo very unique and it was so wonderful chatting with the owner Karim about Marrakesh, great olive oil, good local bread, fantastic coffee (he let us smell his Ethiopian blend from Ohoris Coffee and I can't wait to get a bag tomorrow) and he's a Pisces. ) Pisces are just the greatest people.
Ristras are the strings of chile you see hanging along fences, on patios and on portals all over New Mexico. In the Fall, you can buy ristras at farmer's markets and roadside stands. Ristras are sometimes used for decoration, and are said to bring good health and good luck.
