Shine + Oil Control With Mamonde Skin Care

In the summer, my skin gets shiny. Realllllyyyyy shinyyyyyyy.

It’s taken some time to finally come to terms with the fact that there’s no miracle solution to have matte skin when it’s 200 degrees but I do know that I need to keep my pores super clean! I have been using the Pore Clean Line from Mamonde for a a little over 30 days now and am loving the results I am having! When your skin is as shiny as mine and you go through so many blotting papers, I just want that super clean matte feeling.

Hair Care That’s Skin Approved.

I’ve been living in super low maintenance beachy hair few months now in quarantine and I’ve been trying out some new new products to see what works best for my overly sensitive scalp. For those who follow me over on Instagram, you know I have had a long time battle with an overly sensitive scalp and even my skin, getting so many itchy breakouts on my back and my chest. (more on that in a bit because I cannot believe that I was not registering that my shampoo was irritating my body) I get so many requests had a ton of requests to share my favorite shampoo and conditioner and to be honest, it’s taken me a bit to find a good shampoo and conditioner that checks all my boxes. So many of them are either too heavy (my hair is already oily enough on it’s own) or do virtually nothing for my hair. Lately, I’ve been using SEEN Skin-Caring Shampoo and SEEN Skin-Caring Conditioner and loving them!

Making Your Bathroom A Self-Care At Home Spa With Osmia Organics

Hands up if you could use a spa experience? Yeah, me too!!! But most of us aren’t getting one any time soon (thanks pandemic and budgets!) My city is technically open and spas are open but I am STILL not feeling comfortable to book and appointment just yet, especially now that Covid cases are on the rise again.

That being said——-none of that’s stopping me from embracing the self-care habits that I know will really get through these uncertain trying times.

We all want to make our lives less stressed and more fun this summer, and who knows when we get to feel normal again! So in the meantime, I can’t think of anything more luxurious that slowing down and savoring a self-care moment every morning and every night – right from home.

Ways To Choose Joy And Peace During Uncertain Times

We begin the 8th week of self isolating today and I have to admit..I have not minded too much of it. Lin and I were talking last night over dinner and discussing the things we have enjoyed during this whole process. I have been appreciating a slower life and a more open calendar. There’s nowhere I need to be, no rushing around to get somewhere, and not a lot of FOMO aside as I tend to retreat in the warmer weather anyhow! (fall-winter baby over here) We have been enjoying cooking our own meals at home more too where before we would eat out at least twice a week! It gets so expensive and you really have no idea how restaurants are preparing your food!

Masque De Nuit

Nothing beats a great face mask especially when the skin is feeling extra dry and dull. And stressed! Your skin’s not the same when it’s stressed that’s for sure. It leads to a weakened skin barrier, irritation, and dryness.

BOOST YOUR MOOD WITH HOME FRAGRANCE DURING QUARANTINE/SELF ISOLATION

What day and time is it everyone?!!! I truly feel as though I am living in a twilight zone for the last few weeks. I have been self isolating for almost 2 full weeks now and as a natural introvert I am really not going to stir crazy yet! But I will tell you my anxiety is at an all time high so I have been struggling lots. I have been doing anything and everything to keep panic attacks at bay and am trying to get sleep even though that has been very challenging. One thing I have been reminded of is how much aromatherapy helps me!!!!!

How To Get A "French Girl Look" Using Non Toxic Cosmetics

In the U.S., women are looking for quick fixes that leave their skin dry, peeling, or damaged, so they’re buying more makeup, and the difference is that American women find skin care complicated, with many steps, and the French secret is more about simplicity! Would you agree?!

One product you typically won’t find in a French woman’s makeup bag? Foundation.

French women seemingly live by "less is more" in all aspects of their beauty routines. The makeup must not be obvious, but rather enhance rather than cover up

Everything Your Skin Needs In Just 2 Products- Vintner's Daughter

You can definitely “overdose” on skincare products and I’ll be first to admit I’ve been guilty of doing so on more than one occasion. Because I tend to write about and review beauty products I sample a number of products before recommending them to you guys!! And sometimes I go overboard with my regimen and suffer the side effects. Luckily the skin is a pretty resilient organ and can easily bounce back with a little TLC.

Recognizing that everyone’s skin is different (which is why a regimen should be tailored to your specific needs), I do believe that most individuals need a basic routine of cleansing twice daily, applying a light moisturizer when dry, and protecting with sunscreen. That being said I’ve seen women with flawless skin who do absolutely nothing – they routinely fall asleep in their make up and just rinse their skin with plain tap water. Ohhh the envy! Because I did not win that genetic lottery like Lin’s family. I mean do you guys know how old Lin is even?!

If I tell you…I really think you might pass out!!

Healthy Scalp With Oribe

Confession time!!

My scalp is a dry flakey mess. I would like to add “in winter” to that statement to make myself feel better about it but that would be a lie. I’m a person who is suffering from embarrassing dandruff!! It’s super sexy with my dark locks and dark clothing too…let me tell you! My hairdresser Kendal swears it is because I am not washing my scalp as well as I should be.

I’m already a fan of Oribe, they can do no wrong in my book, so when I saw they had an anti-dandruff shampoo along with a whole Serene Scalp product range I knew I had to try it!! Clearly the products I have been using our not helping my flaky issues.

Meet The Maker: Catherine Rising Giveaway

The art of smudging, or burning particular herbs as incense to cleanse space and spirit has been around for thousands of years and, in today’s world, it is a deeply calming and beautiful ritual to return to.

This simple idea of burning of herbs as part of rituals has been used by many cultures and religions from the ancient Egyptians to the Roman Catholic Church. Smudge sticks are probably most often identified with the North American Indian cultures. White sage and sweet grass were commonly used. Their traditions believed that the smoke of white sage would banish any negative energy or spirits from a person or place, while the smoke of sweet grass would attract positive energy.
