Christmas week is soon upon us, which means it’s time to wrap up menu planning and make some decisions already — grocery shopping awaits! Even though it’s just Lin and I this year, I still want to make our Christmas meals very special. I also want to prepare some extra dishes for some of my neighbors going through a tough time too. I have been toying with sticking to tradition or switching things up this year! And have just decided today that I want to totally switch things up-it’s 2020 afterall. So a wonderful French dinner it shall be.
I am especially excited to use my new pieces from Le Creuset that they sent over! Since 1925, Le Creuset has been renowned as the colorful French companion in kitchens across the globe. Defined by three essential truths, Les Trois Vérités, they’re more than just cookware. These are the three pieces I now own.

I knew I had to experience them. So I reached out and was so very happy they wanted to partner with Go French Yourself!
HAUS APÉRITIF REVIEW
Haus is a new(ish) wine based apéritif, made from all-natural ingredients on a farm in Sonoma County, California by husband and wife team Helena and Woody. Their apéritifs are made with with only real ingredients (farm to bottle) - no sketchy additives. Love that they have less sugar too…..I really try to avoid too many drinks for this reason!
Here are a few of the ingredients they use to make their superb apéritifs.

I also made a delish Cherry Clafouti using one of my most beloved Falcon pieces! And today I am going to share two more recipes I made for Thanksgiving using my newest Falcon pieces! How many Falcon pieces are too many?! LOL! Asking for a friend.
Their enamelware is so beautiful, so functional, and so light and compact to store. We have very little storage in our kitchen and an open pantry so Falcon really suits us perfectly. It’s also so easy to clean. It’s timeless and durable! Falcon is a UK company that now ships to the US, which is great because their quality and colors are the best out there. Enamelware is also great for camping trips as it packs light to stay nimble and agile on your travels! So it’s just incredibly versatile.

Read MoreAdding fresh herbs to pasta dough is such a wonderful way to add flavor and it is truly just the most beautiful looking pasta!!!!!! I have been seeing it all over Pinterest and Instagram and wanted to give it a try for myself!!!!!!
You can create a wide range of patterns or simply scatter the herbs over the sheets of dough. Any herb that has a thin flexible leaf may be used. Basil, chives, sage, or parsley are just a few example of herbs that embed well.

Oh em gee…….and not as much cleaning up. Yes, please. I don’t know about you, but I personally am looking to eliminate stress this holiday season. The whole year has been stressful enough.
Lin and I have spent a decade traveling to Houston to see his family over Thanksgiving and now that we are doing what we can do to flatten this curve, we are staying here in Tulsa this year with our sweet pups. Incase you have not seen the current guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rate small Thanksgiving dinners confined to members of your household as the lowest-risk way to celebrate the holiday. And I hope I can encourage you too to do your part in all this!
So I have a huge confession! Traditional Thanksgiving food is actually not my favorite
Read MoreSo excited to tell you about Mesa de Vida today!
Chef Kirsten Helle Sandoval has such an inspiring story which you should read in detail here. She creates delicious blender sauces that combine fruits, vegetables, whole spices and herbs to use as flavor bases that had no added sugar, and that are low in sodium. And for someone who eats a Whole30 diet 80% of the time..it is so nice to have something quick, healthy, and flavorful on hand to make dinner! I love Whole30 but I must admit I get so tired some days of all the food prepping. Mesa de Vida really saves me some time and energy and that is so important to me! I just love that Mesa de Vida is a woman + family owned small business that values equity and inclusion too!
Read MoreFew things in the kitchen are more satisfying than mastering homemade pizza dough. And if you ask me, few foods are more comforting that a delicious pizza! (especially while decorating for the holidays) It’s truly my favorite food!!!! And pizza perfection doesn’t have to be delivered or defrosted, and it especially doesn’t need to involve a complicated dough recipe that requires hours of proofing. Who on earth has time for that?!!!
Read MoreI think we can all agree that no Thanksgiving dessert table is complete without pie. Pumpkin, pecan, apple; no matter what your preference, it’s not Thanksgiving without a decadent slice to complete the day’s feast.
Read MoreIn just a matter of days, we will be honoring those who have passed away for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a multi-day holiday that is quite literally a celebration of the dead. Even though it looks very different this year ( so bummed I can’t be with my family) Rodge and I will still be enjoying our favorite Mexican food, pastries, and tequila cocktails on November 2nd!Give me all the chicken flautas and guacamole and tequila por favor! 💃🏻I partnered with @herradurateq this year to celebrate with what could be thought of as the margarita’s bitter cousin, the grapefruit-driven Paloma made with their incredible #Herradura silver tequila!
Read MoreCooking up some tasty family recipes for #DiaDeLosMuertos this year! The #DayOfTheDead is a Mexican holiday in which loved ones that have passed away are remembered, honored and celebrated. A very important part of this holiday which is celebrated in many Latin American countries is the significance and importance of food.
I love making my abuelita's Mole Chicken Enchiladas. Mole negro is a complexly flavored, dark-as-night, chile-and-chocolate sauce. (spicy and sweet) We serve this with spicy jalapeño black beans and lots of delish guacamole! You cannot forget the sugar skull cookies either. Cooking this wonderful feast brings back the best memories for me with my family in El Paso. It was such a special time to remember those that have passed on and honor them with offerings of sugar skulls, marigolds and an assortment of foods. And of course it looks so different this year not being able to attend the celebrations but it was important that I carry on the tradition this year!
Made the most delish plant-based almond butter cookies with chocolate drizzle using Kite Hill Food’s Plant-Based Butter Alternative! It uses cultured almond milk and healthy oils such as sunflower and coconut oils to create the creamiest consistent baking product! ( it’s great for cooking too ) This vegan, plant-based, dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free butter alternative can be found at Whole Foods or a few select Target stores!
So now for the recipe!
