Two Simple Low Carb High Protein Salmon Recipes

I recently partnered with Blue Circle Foods to host the loveliest bridal shower for a friend who is a pescatarian .

We wanted to keep things super simple and cost effective so I created two dishes where guests could really be involved in creating their own plates with the delicious #ChangingSeas hot smoked salmon in either a classic or peppered variety!

The first recipe I’m sharing with you is my favorite go-to salad, a.k.a *the protein packed lemony salad-

Event Review: Launch Bloggers Conference 2019

Just wanted to following up on my day trip to OKC the other weekend! My friend Cassie from True Agape hosted the very first Launch Bloggers Conference in Oklahoma City and I am so glad that I invested the time to attend. As you know I really wanted to step out of my introvert box and do new things in 2019. I normally would not attend something like this all by myself due to my severe social anxiety. I know it sounds silly but if you deal with anxiety, you will fully relate and if you don’t ..you will never truly understand how debilitating this condition is. I battle it every second of everyday.

Our conference took place at the beautiful OKC Museum of Art which is one of my favorite places to pass time when I am in the city. The Museum’s permanent collection covers a period of five centuries with strengths in European and American art from the nineteenth through twenty-first centuries, contemporary art, and one of the world’s largest public collections of glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly, whom I adore!

In The Kitchen With Shannon Smith From Beads & Basil/Along With Her Red And Green Shakshuka Recipes

I have been following the lovely Shannon from Beads & Basil for a few months and was so intrigued by her food, and travels so when she reached out inviting me to her kitchen to make one of my favorite dishes, well of course I said OUI! I was eager to get a closer look at her personal and professional life. A jewelry designer, a chef, a teacher, and a wife and mother on top of it all, Shannon does a little bit of everything. She has a meticulous yet laid back approach to life, which comes across in the work she creates and in the way she speaks about it all.

She is a wonderful human and such a fantastic chef to boot, (and here I though I was a decent cook) and her Shakshuka’s are out of this world delicious! I had no idea how simple it could be to create my own so I am so thankful to have learned with Shannon. I knew we were going to make a red Shakshuka but when I learned that we would make a red AND a green…well pitter patter went my heart! Two is always better than one, no?

Doggy Birthday Party//Melvin Turns 6

Happy Almost Thanksgiving everyone! I cannot believe this is only my second blog post to publish this month but in my defense, I left town November 1st for 2 weeks traveling the Maine coast and had a huge event I worked as soon as I returned! Now I am in Houston getting settled for the holiday and have some free time to get lots of things published for you!

Just in case you have not been watching all of my insta stories, right before we left we had a little birthday party for Melvin. The party needed to be during the week midday which was not the ideal time for many of my friends with dogs whom Melvin loves and I could not host anything at my house because we had a window installation happening. Our local dog park was not ideal either because you cannot bring any perishable items. So my friend Brooke had the perfect solution to my problem!

We both board our dogs at Noah’s Bed and Biscuit in Kiefer and when we talked to them about hosting a little “puppy pawty” ! They have plenty of fenced-in yard options! And plenty of doggy companions who can attend!

Problem solved!

DIY Modern Floral Pumpkin Centerpiece With Whole Foods Market

Looking for simple, elegant Halloween and Thanksgiving table decor ideas? This pumpkin floral centerpiece combines sage green and a softer, romantic color palette that screams all things fall.

I will totally admit that this fall I’ve been struggling with inspiration. Everyone was decorating pumpkins and making cornucopias and it was all I could do to bring out some of our festive decorations. So I headed over to Glitter Guide’s website (something I always do when I need some good inspo) and I found these beautiful pumpkin floral centerpieces that Baba Souk shared on their site! I fell in love with the look of them and was so intrigued by how easy they seemed to put together!

Boozy Pumpkin Milkshake Featuring Heritage Distilling Brown Sugar Bourbon

Today’s recipe by Sarah from Broma Bakery had me literally sprinting for the grocery store, especially since I just received two bottles of delish brown sugar bourbon. Their bourbon is made from a Corn/Rye/Malted Barley mash. Barreled at less than 125 proof for <2 years in new American Oak Charred Barrels, then cut to 60 proof using our private crystal clear water source with natural Brown Sugar and Cinnamon flavors added. 30% ABV/60 Proof. Mmmmmm!

LoveFest 2018

The year was 2018…or was it?!!

I recently had the pleasure of attending one of the funnest wedding celebrations I have ever attended!!! Their was music, flower crowns, food trucks, a beer garden, anacondas, and even helicopter rides.

It was truly so magical!!! The dusty air, sunset, amazing food and tunes. I felt like I was at my favorite music festival actually. And festivals really weave a special kind of magic – it’s wild, invigorating, and the energy is electric. With a buzz in the air and glitter in your hair and all over your face— nothing can make you feel more alive than the chaos and freedom of a festival or a celebration of love!!!!!!!

Two Delish Summer Poolside Cocktails Featuring Malibu & Jameson

For me, nothing symbolizes the carefree days of summer quite like a day spent lounging poolside with sweet love, sweet friends, and my sweet pups doing nothing more strenuous than taking a dip to cool off when the sun gets a little too hot, or maybe heading inside to get everyone another round of cocktails. These triple digit days here are just insane and the only way to survive them is in a body of water!

This year, I decided to make it a point not to let these lazy days of summer pass me by as I typically tend to do. So I have been making it a point to  invite friends to don their suits and savor a day of sun and swimming with me!

This summer has been one of the hottest yet, so I wanted to share two amazing cocktail recipes that will be sure to cool you down during the remaining days of summer.

Day Dreaming Of The Amalfi Coast With Perrier

I love the idea of an apéritif-they are just so simple and refreshing! For today’s cocktail, I turned to a classic Italian aperitivo for inspiration, but with a twist-combining Prosecco with freshly muddled peach and mint and a splash of Perrier Peach.  Perrier Peach is one of the newest flavor in Perrier’s line of all-natural flavored sparkling waters (the L’Orange flavor is also lovely in this easy Prosecco cocktail)

THE TEN MOST UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS FROM #BITENWA

I arrived home from Aspen BITE NWA over the weekend and it admittedly took me a couple days to fully recover from the delicious eats and drinks! It was a gloriously busy and delicious few days, and I was excited to team up with Maddy Rang from Octagon who ran the social for Bite and host two Instagram takeovers. I brought home so much inspiration from the event, the cooking demos, and the newer Bentonville restaurants I discovered, and simply soaking up all that energy from fellow passionate foodies. We also had time to squeeze in some culture making it to The O'Keefe exhibit at Crystal Bridges and see The Bachman-Wilson House that Frank Lloyd Wright built. It was moved from New Jersey if you can believe that. Anyhow, keep reading for 10 experiences from BITE NWA that have got me so stoked to get in the kitchen and make some fabulous meals!

Michelob ULTRA Father's Day Tribute//Life Lessons From My #ULTRADAD With A Taco Stuffed Sweet Potato Recipe

There are plenty of fantastic dads out there. My Rodge is one. My grandfather Kelsey is another. And my dad Mark tried the best he could even though we do not have a relationship currently.  I’ve known dads who’ve have fatherhood thrown upon them at a young age and yet have handled it with grace and maturity beyond their years, but this Father’s Day I want to say a big THANK YOU to all the dads that didn’t have to be. I’m talking about parenting a child that isn’t biologically yours. This post is dedicated to the dads that choose not just to parent someone else’s child, but chose to love them as their own. I want to dedicate this post to my step father Albert because he deserves recognition this Father’s Day for being the unsung hero of fatherhood. I grew up with him in my very difficult younger teenage years and he was the one fighting in the trenches, helping me with homework (he is so great at math and I am the worst) ,driving me to and from everywhere, and in general doing the heavy lifting of parenting for most of my life, especially to my younger siblings.
