If You Must Wear A Face Mask (YOU MUST), Let It Be Good-Looking!

N95 masks must be reserved for healthcare workers on the front-lines, and paper masks are also scary and should be thrown away after every use. Purchasing a reusable fabric mask is a win-win for the environment and for the three businesses I have gotten my masks (or fabric) from!

I want to first say that my intention in this post is heartfelt and I am trying to be a helpful source of information. I am not trying to make light of a horrible situation because from a public-health perspective, it doesn’t matter what your face mask looks like, where you purchased it, or how you made it—wearing a functional mask is all that matters right now! But for my post today I am focusing on the fact that masks have inevitably become a form of aesthetic self-expression and have inevitably become the “must-have” accessory for spring 2020.

Chicken Francese, Brussels Sprouts Gratin, And Perfect Oven Roasted Asparagus - Easy Weeknight Supper

Chicken Francese isn’t as well known a recipe but the flavors are as special as your favorite French restaurant in my opinion!

WHAT DOES “FRANCESE” MEAN?

It means “French style,” or “the French way,” but what it refers to is chicken fried in a flour mixture and egg wash with citrus juice until golden brown. Chefs aren’t entirely sure where the term originated, but cooking chicken “the French way” certainly makes for a tasty meal.

Homemade Potato Gnocchi With Creamy Gorgonzola Sauce

I have been dreaming of homemade gorgonzola gnocchi since we left Northern California! So I decided to recreate a beautiful delicious gorgonzola gnocchi! Not familiar with gnocchi?! Well…this plump, pillowy potato pasta originated in Northern Italy, where the colder climate was much more conducive to growing potatoes than grains. Gnocchi was filling and inexpensive, which made it a popular meal. That said, Northern Italy is the birthplace of other hearty Italian classics too, like risotto and polenta. What gnocchi has become, however, is much more than its humble peasant roots.

White Chocolate Raspberry Swirl Cake Recipe Made With French Flour & French Preserves

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. There are so many things we love about Easter — sweet memories of egg hunts, children in adorable outfits, and the promise of spring. This one was certainly one to remember…that’s for sure.

It seems my kitchen is turning out kitschy holiday dessert at every occasion these days…actually there does not have to really even be a special occasion anymore. LOL! But I have loved every second of expanding my horizons as a baker.

Best Publication For French Culture-France-Amérique

For those of you who follow me you know that I am learning French!

And a huge part of mastering the language is really immersing yourself in the language as much as possible. Practice does indeed make perfect! One advantage of this quarantine is I have had lots of free time to dedicate to my language practice.

C'est en forgeant qu'on devient forgeron!

My French tutor introduced me to France-Amérique and I am so in love with this publication. Founded in 1943 by French exiles in New York, France-Amérique is the only bilingual French-English publication in the United States. Every month, the France-Amérique print magazine offers a compilation of portraits, reports, essays, and interviews to inspire thought and debate, combined with an elegant design and high-quality images. The publication analyzes French life and art de vivre, and offers a unique connection to the French cultural scene in the United States. Thanks to its bilingual format, France-Amérique attracts students of French and English who use the magazine to improve their written comprehension in both languages.

Styling The Table For Easter

April is in full swing, which means store shelves are surely brimming with Cadbury eggs and cute little bunnies as the countdown to Easter begins. It’s looking a little different around here this year in quarantine! It will just be Lin and I this year ( sad because originally Lin’s son and daughter in law along with the two boys were planning on visiting) Anyway..trying to keep things happy, beautiful, and festive around here so I decided to put together a little spring Easter table that looks modern and bright! I did not shop for new things as I normally do so I used pieces that I already had with the exception of a brand new linen tablecloth from Rough Linen. I love it so much so it was exciting to use this as the star piece for my Easter tablescape.

SPICED BANANA BREAD RECIPE

This delicious, moist and fluffy banana bread is so easy to make and even easier to eat! With the addition of some wonderful spices………..well, you may just eat the whole thing in one sitting!!!!

To get a super flavorful banana bread, you want to start with the best ingredients. That includes super ripe bananas. I have a tendency to buy bananas and never eat them in time, so I always have overly ripe bananas on hand. Ideally you want to use bananas that are turning black and are super soft.

Keeping Your Dog’s Kibble Fresh With Gamma2 Vittles Vault

So lately we have been buying Henry and Melvin’s kibble in bulk to save some money and avoid unnecessary trips to the store. Tulsa is under a #SaferAtHome order to help not spread Covid 19 so we really only allowed to go to the store once a week but we are taking things even more seriously and are only going to the store once every two weeks. Our dogs go through one bag of food a week so just recently I went ahead and purchased 4 bags of dog food. We needed a proper way to store the food so it doesn’t go stale or get broken into by our little mischievous pets! (oh boy do I have a story for you for a later time)

So we are thrilled to partner with Vittles Vault! We have the Vittles Vault Outback Stackable Food Storage Container and are here to tell you all about all the amazing features and why we love it!!

I have been self isolating for almost 2 full weeks now and as a natural introvert I am really not going to stir crazy yet! But I will tell you my anxiety is at an all time high so I have been struggling lots. I have been doing anything and everything to keep panic attacks at bay and am trying to get sleep even though that has been very challenging. One thing I have been reminded of is how much aromatherapy helps me!!!!!
