N95 masks must be reserved for healthcare workers on the front-lines, and paper masks are also scary and should be thrown away after every use. Purchasing a reusable fabric mask is a win-win for the environment and for the three businesses I have gotten my masks (or fabric) from!
I want to first say that my intention in this post is heartfelt and I am trying to be a helpful source of information. I am not trying to make light of a horrible situation because from a public-health perspective, it doesn’t matter what your face mask looks like, where you purchased it, or how you made it—wearing a functional mask is all that matters right now! But for my post today I am focusing on the fact that masks have inevitably become a form of aesthetic self-expression and have inevitably become the “must-have” accessory for spring 2020.
