BBQ Bloody Mary
This post was sponsored by Agalima but opinions and words are mine alone.
With the onset of Fall brings everything we love to celebrate. Friends, cooler temps, football, and just being together with good food and great company. It’s all about taking time to celebrate the good things in life. And that’s exactly what we did yesterday for The OU game! Making people smile is truly one of my favorite joys in life! I love to create atmospheres that bring people together in a comfortable and casual way. Never too stuffy. I want people to feel comfortable and loved when they are in here in my home!
I’m a huge fan of Bloody Mary’s and I always have my Organic Agalima Bloody Mary Mix on hand!! Roma tomatoes, smoky chipotle peppers, hot horseradish and their house-made Worcestershire create a distinctive Bloody Mary blend that’s spicy, salty and sweet. It’s perfection really.
A MEETING OF MISFITS
The Bloody Mary hasn’t always been a boozy brunch favorite, but rather has a history that is complex and mysterious. There are many different origin stories, but one of the earliest recorded happened in early 20th century France at the intersection of prohibition and the Russian revolution. Carrying canned juices, bartenders were leaving the bone-dry USA wanting to legally continue their craft. Russians were fleeing political unrest, vodka in tow. American expats and Soviet dissenters met in Paris at Harry’s Famous New York Bar, an establishment frequented by Ernest Hemingway. It was here that Ferdinand “Pete” Petiot was said to have created the very first rudimentary version—just vodka and tomato juice.
As time went on, many variations of this classic popped up. It seems that the salty, savory base of this popular cocktail is versatile as it is delicious, and that’s why Agalima wanted to create the best possible version using pure, organic ingredients.
Very cool, right?!
My Bloody Mary is a slow sipping classic cocktail that should be enjoyed with friends. And I loved creating one that was unique to our love for BBQ!!
BBQ BLOODY MARY RECIPE
2 oz. vodka (get the good stuff ..do not skimp here.)
4 oz. Agalima Bloody Mary Mix
1 Tbsp. Head Country Original BBQ Sauce (it’s from Oklahoma so…)
½ lemon, juiced
½ tsp. hot sauce (if you like spicy..leave it out if you don’t)
Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake for 10 seconds.
Serve drink over ice and garnish.
BBQ Sauce on the side for dipping
Just layer these garnishes on the skewer creating a bun-less BBQ sandwich really!! So your low-carb pals will appreciate this! HA!
ENJOY and BOOMER!!!
