A Trip To Provence From The Comfort Of Your Own Home

I so adore a beautiful subscription box that transports me somewhere else! I so love giving subscription boxes as gifts too because they are truly the gift that just keeps on giving. Discovering a single item that truly encompasses how much you care can be quite difficult. Whether it’s for their birthday or a holiday or it’s a simple token of gratitude, one way to guarantee you’re giving them something they’ll enjoy is by presenting them with a gift that keeps on giving. Translation: Invest in a themed subscription box they can be excited about for months to come. And imagine a subscription box that transports you to Provence without even leaving your own sofa! I am all for someone bringing Provence to my doorstep every season. What about you?!

I am obsessed with Best French Forever™! Cynthia was so kind to reach out and gift me this beautiful subscription box to review.

Cynthia was born and raised in a small village of Provence and moved to Chicago in 2014 (all though presently living in Colorado) to live with her love and now husband. Soon after moving, she started to realize how much her American friends are fond of French culture. To satisfy their cravings for the French art de vivre and to stay connected with her own roots, she began writing a monthly newsletter with her own takes on all things French, from fashion to recipes to art and travel tips.

In 2020, Cynthia decided to expand the concept, and bring Provence to American francophiles through curated lifestyle products from local boutiques and creators. Her goal is to showcase the beautiful craftsmanship that takes place in the South of France, and promote a different way of living life: more pleasurable yet more sustainable. For every box, she look for partners who take into consideration the planet and people around them in their making process. These boxes are also made with the environment in mind, so they stay true to their values.

Merci for sharing your home with us Cynthia!!

For those of you are new here….

I’M A HOPELESS FRANCOPHILE IN LOVE WITH FRANCE.

Fran·co·phile

ˈfraNGkəˌfīl/

noun

plural noun: Francophiles

a person who is fond of or greatly admires France or the French.

OUI, YES THIS IS ME. BONJOUR.

"Paris is always a good idea," Audrey Hepburn once said, and I'm sure any Francophile would agree. When they're not café hopping in the City of Lights or playing pétanque in Provence, any lover of France can still enjoy the je ne sais quoi of the country, no matter where they are in the universe. You can explore Go French Yourself Chapitre 2 here on my blog!

But back to Cynthia’s La Box!

How it works:

Pick a plan. Every season, they will delight you with a new box filled with ethical, beautiful goods from Provence. Choose between the seasonal or annual subscriptions, or a one-time purchase. I really love the Two box option—-one for you and one for your bestie! You’ll both receive the same box around the same time, so you can create a connection even from afar. Again, perfect gift!

Wait for it. These boxes are shipped every quarter, in March, June, September and December. Don’t worry, they will remind you at the moment of your purchase when you can expect your box to arrive.

It’s here! Your box has arrived. It is time to embark on your trip to Provence, from the comfort of your home. Make sure you follow the instructions inside the box to get the full experience.

No spoiled surprises! But each box is a unique collection of products and content, based on their latest finds and what makes sense for the season. You will receive up to five full-size, ethically-made products, along with some other French goodness.

It will be an immersion into the art de vivre of Provence, its craftsmanship and love for simple yet beautiful things. Cynthia really thought of everything here igniting all the senses! I loved opening up my box while listening to the curated playlist she made and I love that she included a La Tapenade recipe for me to make.

Here is what I received in summer box!

Rosé Wine natural soap from Rose et Marius.

After 15 years working in the luxury industry, Magali decided to create her own luxury aroma brand from Provence: in 2012, Rose et Marius was born. She was inspired by her childhood memories spent with her Grandmother, Rose, in Provence. Each Rose et Marius olfactory creation is the testimony of a memory. A love story with Provence to sublimate the Art of Living.

My soap smells divine! Comoros Ylang Ylang, Heart of Patchouly from Indonesia, Brazilian Rose Berry, Indian Sandalwood, White cedar wood from United States of America… GASP!

Travel SKINCARE Set From Panier des Sens

This kit includes three face treatments for a moisturizing and radiance care ritual: make-up removal, cleansing and moisturizing. Made with peony extract grown and harvested in France.

Love the cleansing foam so much! It’s a light and creamy foam, infused in floral water.
Gently cleanses the skin, removing any last traces of make-up and freeing it from dirt and pollution. The makeup remover is lovely too. The crystalline lotion removes make-up in a single gesture on the face and the eyes. It releases the skin from impurities and traces of makeup. And the light face cream feels so magnificent on my skin. The lotion texture melts into the skin, absorbing quickly and leaving a soft finish.

Clean Nail Polish From Clever Beauty

The brand name may not sound French, but this company is indeed 100% made in France, from the team to the ingredients!

In France, they like to do their own manicures! So Cynthia couldn’t resist the opportunity to introduce us to the first natural and zero waste nail polish. It’s vegan, cruelty free and without endocrine disruptors. Plus its cap is innovative: with a single click, you can reach the bottom of the bottle and save up to 20% more product! (Soooo cool)

She chose the #6 Spontanée: a thin ray of sunshine on your nails that reveals pretty golden highlights. Perfect for summer!

La Tomette by Marie-Sophie Maury

For those who don’t know, la tomette is originally a key floor tile used in the Provençal architecture. Marie-Sophie Maury gave it a twist and made it a precious home decor item that Cynthia is personally in love with! You can put it on a wall, use it as a coaster or even as a gentle essential oil diffuser. The applications are endless!

Now let’s talk about the stamp: do you recognize it? Yes, it’s the famous cigale (cicada). The signature sound of every summer in Provence, an endless chant to lull you to your afternoon sieste! You get it, la cigale is a symbol of the South of France. It comes in June and sings through August. Cynthia couldn’t bring us a Summer Edition without a nod to la cigale. So here you have it — brought to you by artisan (and artist) Marie-Sophie Maury.

Linen Towel by Petits Points de Provence

In the center of the village of Ménerbes, there is this little shop, filled with beautiful textiles and other Provencal treasures. It’s called Petits Points de Provence. There you will meet Sylviane, the owner and artisan behind all the shop’s creations. The towel I received is handmade by her. It is soooo beautiful!
