Styling The Table For Easter

April is in full swing, which means store shelves are surely brimming with Cadbury eggs and cute little bunnies as the countdown to Easter begins. It’s looking a little different around here this year in quarantine! It will just be Lin and I this year ( sad because originally Lin’s son and daughter in law along with the two boys were planning on visiting) Anyway..trying to keep things happy, beautiful, and festive around here so I decided to put together a little spring Easter table that looks modern and bright! I did not shop for new things as I normally do so I used pieces that I already had with the exception of a brand new linen tablecloth from Rough Linen. I love it so much so it was exciting to use this as the star piece for my Easter tablescape.

Beautiful Modern Ceramics For Your Tabletop featuring EARL Home

When designing your home, it’s important to remember that not all artwork hangs on your walls. Beautifully crafted modern ceramics are truly works of art in and of themselves, and adding those one-of-a-kind items (you know, the ones that you can’t seem to get out of your head even after you’ve left the shop or website) is an easy way to infuse your personality into a space. Of course, one-off pieces can get expensive since you’re paying for the artist’s time, skill, eye, and materials, and then usually a markup at the retail level but these are the items in my home that I just love and treasure forever!!!! EARL is making crazy beautiful things (love you guys!), and I am so honored to now have 4 of their gorgeous cereal bowls in my possession!!! We use these for soups, stir fry, pasta, and of course cereal!!!!

Gidon Bing Ceramics

Designed and produced from a modest boatshed atelier and basement studios, Gidon Bing Ceramics are sold and collected worldwide. New York, LA, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen and have featured in Selfridges of London and Milan's Salone del Mobile among others. The latest collection draws inspiration from the power and presence of reductive forms – a natural extension of Gidons sculptural practice, where a fascination with the relationship between biological asymmetry and the artifact is explored.

Many of these ceramic objects are modeled and formed using techniques such as traditional Japanese wood bending, carving, plaster turning and mould making together with more contemporary approaches such as 3d printing and multi axis cnc. These processes form part of Gidons unique sculptural approach to designing and producing ceramics.

Meet The Maker: Catherine Rising Giveaway

The art of smudging, or burning particular herbs as incense to cleanse space and spirit has been around for thousands of years and, in today’s world, it is a deeply calming and beautiful ritual to return to.

This simple idea of burning of herbs as part of rituals has been used by many cultures and religions from the ancient Egyptians to the Roman Catholic Church. Smudge sticks are probably most often identified with the North American Indian cultures. White sage and sweet grass were commonly used. Their traditions believed that the smoke of white sage would banish any negative energy or spirits from a person or place, while the smoke of sweet grass would attract positive energy.

Gifts For The Brutalist + Art Deco Architecture Lover

Brutalist buildings tend to create a love or hate reaction. I’m personally love and have been inspired by this modernist style for quite some time. Lin too. Brutalist buildings are no nonsense spaces, fortress like structures that serve a practical post war purpose for social housing, industry, cultural centers and institutions. There is so much beauty in their boldness, the chunky slabs of concrete, the uncompromising and unpretentious raw material and the interesting shapes they take from different view points.

Lin can be tough to shop for so I was so happy to have discovered Blue Crow Media. Founded in 2009 by Derek Lamberton, Blue Crow Media is an independent publisher dedicated to creating thoughtfully designed and carefully curated city maps. Their publications began with a series of food and drink city maps and apps, and since 2015 they have published a series architecture and design guide maps. The New York Times describes the maps as "part design manifesto, part urban architecture guide".

REVIEW: Do Tear-Trough Fillers Work (Featuring Fig Med Spa)

I just wanted to feel confident with or without makeup and not look so darn tired and old.

After determining there was no magical concealer, cream, or over-the-counter treatment to address my under eye problems, I decided to start researching fillers and reached out to Fig Medical Spa here in Tulsa to learn more about the entire process. I had always seen amazing under eye filler before and afters, and I was really curious to see if I could get good results!

My Under Eye Fillers Consultation

After chatting with Fig Medical Spa, they set up an appointment for me with Cristie Lehr-Hawkins, M.D. She is a certified Radiologist with special interest and additional training in aesthetics, regenerative medicine, and Phlebology.
