French Wine Club by somMailier - The Best Wine Club For Food Pairings

I definitely wouldn’t tout myself as a wine expert, but I’m quite familiar with different types of wines and brands. And French wines are just the best in the world. I do know that!

I first introduced you to the somMailier Wine Club back in February (read all about it here) and I am so excited to share a promo code with you today (grab the code at the end of the post) and tell you about their white wines and their rosè this time.

I really enjoy being apart of a wine club because it’s such a great way to taste new wines and expand your knowledge. If you consider yourself a bit of a sommelier and would like to discover some new blends — your favorite red seems a bit too sweet nowadays — or maybe you’re just looking for a no-hassle way to up your reserves, a wine club may be for you. There are so many things to consider especially as we approach the holiday entertaining season! It’s truly my favorite time of year but hosting a dinner party is difficult enough. Between entertaining guests and preparing food, picking a wine pairing can be an intimidating process.

Filleting and grilling a whole fish can seem intimidating, but it’s actually quite simple to do! While testing this delicious Yellowtail Recipe I couldn’t find snapper fillets, but I could find whole snappers.

No problem—filleting a snapper (or any other similar fish) is easy if you follow these steps.

Just be sure to use your sharpest knife, whether it’s a fillet knife or a chef’s knife. I highly recommend the Opinel FORGED 1890 7" FILLET KNIFE for all of your fish recipes.

Perfect Peach Hotcakes Featuring Cristel

Since I intermittent fast on the weekdays..I really look forward to a pancake breakfast for dinner or as I like to say “BRINNER”.

Eggs or toast can be equally satisfying, but there’s something inherently special about pancakes. And these summery peach hotcakes are super flavorful, especially when you have good peaches from The Farmer’s Market.

Brisket Enchiladas Featuring Opinel

Brisket Enchiladas are a spicy comfort food meal that is easy to prepare. Brisket Enchiladas are made with spicy shredded slow-cooked brisket that is rolled up in tortillas with cheese and onions and then topped with red chile sauce and more cheese. Simply irresistible!! Of course you can make them with chicken or ground beef but I find brisket is a little more creative and tasty.

Baked Pork Tenderloin With A French Country Salad Featuring Opinel

This garlic baked pork tenderloin with italian seasonings and a nice French country salad is one of my favorite summertime dinners! First off, everyone loves pork tenderloin, and this one has just enough interesting and surprising flavors to make it feel dinner party-worthy. I roast mine in the oven but this is a recipe you can throw on the grill too! Pork tenderloin is one of those cuts of meat that is made for serving a crowd too so you could easily scale this recipe up (buy a larger tenderloin) depending on your guest count, then slice it up and arrange on a big gorgeous family-style platter.

Must Have Knives For The Carnivore + Pescatarian- Opinel Les Forges 1890

As you know, food is a big thing in my life – it is practically my life. One of the undeniably best places to eat in the world is right at home. And for ‘just a home cook like me’ knives hold a special mystery when it comes to chefs and the art of cooking. Knives are the most important and personal part of a chef”s tool kit. So much so that chefs take their knives with them from job-to-job like a photographer would their camera.

With fascination, I’ve watched chefs carefully, lovingly and with respect unwrap their knives from their knife rolls. So captivated by this…always.

Everyday Cooking With Authentic French Cookware Featuring CRISTEL

I view cooking as an artistic expression, a labor of love, an exploratory moment where time stands still- therapy even. I just really love testing new recipes, mixing unexpected ingredients, and playing with food and CRISTEL has just enhanced my creating experience with their cookware. Plus this was the the most perfect option for our “smallish” kitchen. Their removable handle concept is incredible and allows us to store all of our pieces in a single drawer!. (You can actually store up to 26 items in a drawer with CRISTEL) The different cookware can not only be stacked within one another to minimize space but also set easily in the dishwasher. And I can easily utilize every single burner on my stove at the same time plus I can get more on the oven rack making things very efficient for me. I can also use these to store food in my refrigerator eliminating the use of toxic plastics. (plus further saving cabinet space not having to fill it with tupperware type containers)

French Rosé Season

About last night

Rodge joined me for a wine tasting with The Alliance Française de Chicago and that was a very nice surprise . He was very sweet and romantic and it was everything I needed! ( decade long relationships need sparks my dears)

Turns out Rodge loves Tavels and I love Bordeaux when it comes to French Rosè wines! But after learning more I need to get my hands on a really good Savoie . I think the Savoie is going to be the very Rosè that was made for Sam!
