Read MoreA Sunday well spent brings a week of content--we have all hear that right?!
But seriously, Sundays and I, we didn’t always love each other. In fact, we hated each other. I honestly used to dread Sundays because it meant the end of the weekend, so I would try to fit in as many activities as possible, but I ended up burning out really fast.
Read MoreI know lots of you beauties are soon heading off to your resort vacays for the holidays while most of us will be settling in with the families decking the halls. Even in the winter months sun protection and skin care is always a top priority for me--no matter where I am in this world. You can always find me covered in SPF , big oversized hats, and the hugest sunglasses one can find. I still love a summer glow though. It's just so pretty to be sun-kissed all year round. I mean--fake it un until you make it right?
As I was making the bed this morning, I noticed that the leaves on the trees have FINALLY peaked in color and are beginning to litter the ground. It seems like it's about two weeks later from last year according some my Timehop. We’ve come to my favorite part of the fall when the air is cooler, yet not frigid, and you can perfectly get cozy in your favorite Autumn sweater. We are also welcoming the shorter days and I love this. Anyone else enjoy their extra hour of sleep last night?!
Another fave part of the season for me is all the soup that we make. There's nothing better than a hot bowl of soup on a brisk fall evening. This this time of year, I start craving soup a few times a week — there’s nothing that warms the body and soul quite like it. Plus I love making extras and freezing it for those days you just do not feel like cooking.

It's the perfect mix to hit that open road...
Read MoreA new Joie de Vivre post is finally here. In a poll I recently did on gram-you all were really wanting to see more of these so your wish is my command darlings.
So the days are already getting so much shorter and I am having the hardest time getting to sleep at a decent hour..all though in my defense, Stranger Things 2 has invaded our living room. We are binge watching the season again because I just cannot get enough. I am also finding that it's harder for me to get out of bed before 8 a.m. because it's still dark outside. Annnnnd daylight savings starts this weekend so I know I am going to be all out of sorts.
I am a person who craves routine when it comes to this so I am feeling super defeated. I like being in bed by 10 p.m and waking by 7 a.m. Keeping to a routine makes me feel calm and efficient. So I am now feeling overly anxious, moody, and am not maximizing my time.

Starting November off with a bang here at Go French Yourself as I introduce you to one of my favorite NYC girls. It's also Wednesday and she totally is my #WCW for life. I have been following Crystal for quite some time and am always so inspired by the way she puts things together. She could publish The 37 Commandments of Dressing Like a New Yorker--that's for sure. I want every single thing in her closet. EVERY SINGLE THING.
Happy to have a little ode to NewYork too in a positive way after yesterday's terrible attack. It's just devastating. Our world seems as though it is crumbling around us.

One of my earliest memories of a child is standing in the El Paso airport waving good-bye to my grandfather who traveled for work. This was pre 9-11 and you could actually wait with your loved ones at the gate. I watched him walk down the jet bridge until I couldn't see him anymore. My grandma would want to leave but I would wait and watch the plane pull away from the jetway and fly into the sky. We could leave when the tiny dot in my sight disappeared completely. He would bring me a doll back from every single trip he took. I will never forget my first doll. The store ran out of the girls so it was a boy--a cabbage patch doll named Charlie according to his birth certificate. My passion for adventure began right then and there and these trips and the world seemed like such a fascinating place and I could not wait to explore every inch of it.

We have had this trip to Fort Worth on the books for quite some time as Lin's nephew would be tying the knot on a beautiful Autumn weekend in October in Texas. Lin and I have spent quite a bit of time in Dallas, my former home for years and years and had passed through Funky Town for lunch a few times but had never spent time overnight there. I know quite a bit about Fort Worth as it was a territory I covered with Aveda for about a year and would love getting out of the BIG D some nights for some good live music and a change of scenery. This ain't my first rodeo y'all. Most "Dallasites" (Hello me) really hate the term DFW because Dallas and Fort Worth can both stand on their own. They are incredibly different. Lin kept referring to our trip to friends as --we are going to Dallas. And I immediately corrected him----we are not even going close to Dallas my fox---we are going to Fort Worth--it's like calling an apple an orange. I seriously threw a good old Texan hissy-fit.
Read MoreI recently had a long layover in Chicago on my way to Boston and had the most delicious beet salad for lunch at The Publican.
I have been dreaming abut it ever since and wish I had their recipe. I found something similar on Pinterest so I gave it a try last night.
This recipe can easily become vegetarian..just don't even trouble yourself with the chicken.
